Quality Assurance Manager – Food / Pharmaceutical Experience

Our client is a leader in the food flavorings and fragrance industry. An international brand creating flavors for everyday products as diverse as beverages, biscuits, confectionery, dairy products, and savory food. The fragrance division spreads over the world of beauty, from the spellbinding signature of great perfumes to hygiene & body care products: shower gels, shampoos, deodorants, creams and toothpastes.

We are seeking an experienced and proven Quality professional from the food/pharmaceutical/chemical industry to fill the newly created position of “ Quality Manager-Encapsulation ” for this state of the art manufacturing facility in the Cincinnati Ohio area.

In this position you will;

  • Provide expertise in encapsulation technology understanding the impact of processing conditions and raw material profile on finish product quality.
  • Work closely with the global capsule organization to align on customer requirements and quality expectations.
  • Oversee the Capsule Quality Lab working closely with the US Production team, global capsule quality organization and end use customers located at multiple international locations
  • Serve as a member of the Global Capsule Technical Team striving for consistent practices and quality
  • Oversee day-to-day operation of Capsule Quality Control Lab ensuring processes and training are in place to evaluate incoming raw material and manufactured finished products against internal and customer specifications and expectations.
  • Manage Capsule CAPA program for internal and customer non-conformances and complaints, including root cause findings, corrective actions and required internal and external communications
  • Collect and monitor quality data to identify out of control trends or deviations from normal quality/process control limits. Ensure all quality related documents and/or records per internal/external requirements are properly maintained

Bachelor’s Degree required . Degrees in Chemistry, Engineering, or Food Science, preferred

Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance leadership role in the food, pharmaceutical or chemical. Previous fragrance or flavorings in a PLUS

Experience working with encapsulation products is preferred but not required

Basic knowledge of lab instrumentation preferred.

Sensory experience preferred

Computer literate with familiarity with PC-based software.
